My
name is Amy Hope and I am thrilled to be your child’s second grade
teacher.I am a 2004 graduate of JacksonvilleStateUniversity
with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education.I also graduated in 2008 from the University
of West Alabama with a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. This is my ninth year of teaching.I am looking forward to an exciting and
productive year working with you and your child. Most likely, your child had the seeds of
reading and writing planted in first grade; however, you will be amazed at just
how much he/she will blossom and grow during the upcoming months.Second grade is a year of important
transitions, as well as one in which new skills will be acquired. You and your child may have some
apprehensions about what will happen, and I can assure you that our days and
weeks will be filled with many opportunities for learning and growing. It is extremely important to keep in mind
that we all build on small successes. Each child will progress at his/her own rate and acquire skills as
he/she is developmentally ready.Building a secure foundation for love and future growth will always
remain a priority in our second grade classroom.
